Don't save all currency until the very end because the last daily prizes can be something really bad and you end up wasting all your currency.

Save your event currency for the daily prizes you want most and spend when they come up. Usually the beta prize list is very accurate but small changes can be possible. The best strategy for daily prizes is to look up the prize list from the wiki and see what daily prizes interests you most. Going for the calendar is usually very poor strategy and you end up getting a lot of bad daily prizes, I wouldn't recommend it but if you are interested for the profile icons you may still want to do it. Usually rushing the quests is not mandatory but it may help if a daily prize you really want is going to show up early on in the event. You can look up the quests before hand and plan some productions with blacksmiths so you can turn in quests fast. Look up the the wiki for any information you need for preparing. get at least 9 train engine kits if you're going for a train) Do make sure that you max out whatever buildings you try to chase though (i.e. if you want to build a Train there'll be two train car days, and two train engine days (plus parlor car days, but i don't recommend that car really - would rather go for sentinel outposts instead). Try to at least make use of the prize you want showing up twice over the event (most likely). Especially if the first special was found early on the board.

Basically you have to find the shuffle to get a new board after finding the special - so the 2nd+ special costs more. It's more efficient in this event to try for 1 prize on a day than 2 though - so you might not want to plan to spend them all on one day. You should have enough stars to clear most of the board usually before you try for something - no worse feeling than getting halfway through a board and running out of stars before you find the special (well okay, maybe finding the shuffle before the special is worse, but nothing you can do about that one). Generally yes you save stars for days you want the special.
